Our primary investment focus is on companies with the following characteristics:

• Danish headquarter
• Established organization (and management)
• Partly or wholly owned by management
• Growth potential
• EBITDA range of 0,27 EURm to 2,7 EURm
  
  

We invest e.g. in companies facing a generational change, needing sales preparation and in growth companies where both capital and competencies are needed to bring the company to the next level.  

Investment experience and process

We are an investment partnership of experienced business people who develop and professionalize small and medium-sized Danish companies through investments of own resources and competencies. Our competencies have typically been achieved by personal experience of launching, leading, developing and successfully selling our own businesses. Thus, we have extensive experience with SMEs and their challenges. We set down screening/investment teams of 2-3 partners who invest their own funds (we have no passive investors).

Competent Capital

We invest solely in companies where our group of partners has the right competencies and resources to contribute to the company’s value creation through an active co-ownership. This is what we call competent capital.

Usually, we invest as active minority shareholders (35% – 49%) in cooperation with other active minority owners, as we find it ideal that more people are to agree on the direction of the company. Under the right conditions, we also invest as majority shareholders.  

At Executive Capital, we are convinced that a well-considered composition of owners with mutual respect and trust to each other is crucial in order to create the best prerequisites for the company’s development and growth. We collaborate with the management of the company about the organizational development with focus on scaling the business model, internationalization and reducing dependence on individuals. We assist in prioritizing and implementing the strategic and operational areas for improvements. In addition, we contribute with access to an extensive network.

We are patient when it comes to the period of ownership and do not require exit within a certain period of time. We prioritize real value creation over cash flow and financial creativity.

Our team has great experience with transactions from the consulting industry and they actively coordinate and advise in the investment phase.
